The Friends of Sporting Art, with the help of The British Sporting Art Trust, put together an exciting trip to the South of England and Scotland to view some amazing private collections, museums and country houses.

On the first day, the group were joined by friends from the British Sporting Art Trust to enjoy a private tour of the Bereleigh Estate, a grade II listed building in the South Downs National Park followed by a delicious lunch hosted by Bill and Philippa Tyrwhitt-Drake.

The group stayed at Goodwood House Hotel a central location to visit places of interest and art galleries in the area. A day in Petworth in West Sussex visiting the Rountree Tryon Gallery followed by a guided tour of Petworth House. The next morning a tour of Chartwell House, the home of Sir Winston Churchill before heading north..

After three days in the South of England the group flew up to Scotland to visit Edinburgh and Glasgow. In Edinburgh tours included the National Gallery of Scotland, Holyrood Palace and an evening drive to see the famous giant horse statues, the Kelpies.

The week ended in Glasgow and a visit to Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery, a tour of the Burrell Collection and on the final day a ferry ride to the Isle of Bute and private tour of Mount Stuart House.
